Andrew Garner and James Boxhall started their workshop with a lecture then off to Bonney’s Farm outside Deloraine to repair a damaged wall – no mean feat for Carolyn, Leanne, Mary, Chris, Helen, Rob, James, Geoff and Geoff. The stone there is amongst the lumpiest, odd-shaped and most difficult stone imaginable. Andrew says that if the students could build with that, then they could build with anything! The wall was stripped out, the stones sorted then all 7 meters beautifully rebuilt.
The walls at Bonney’s farm date back to the late 19th and early 20th century.
(All workshop participants are offered free membership of DSWAA for the rest of the financial year plus one year)
