Our 1st 2016 field trip is in northern Tasmania, led by Andrew Garner – DSWAA member and highly experienced dry stone waller – and his colleague, James Boxhill – a professional hedger – based near Deloraine.
Using Launceston as base, we will visit sites in the Meander Valley and East Tamar regions Sat 12th and Sun 13th March and possibly Oatlands Mon 14th.
What you will see:
- historic properties (some not generally open to the public)
- a variety of old and new dry stone walls
- traditional hedgerows
- wineries and other sites of interest.
