Christine Cholewa was appointed to the new role of admin assistant for DSWAA mid March. Welcome Christine!
She is excited about this new role and looking forward to working with the committee, meeting the members, and attending some field trips.
Christine is an artist living in the Adelaide area who enjoys collaboration and working on public art. She does not use one material or one set approach when working on her art, rather she works with her aesthetic, skills, and material knowledge to approach each art opportunity individually.
Originally from Canada, Christine is the granddaughter of farmers, who migrated from Poland and Ukraine after the war. Growing up on a vegetable farm is one of her favourite childhood memories.
Since 2013 she has been co-director of CHEBart, working within the public art sector in South Australia. Christine has significant experience working collaboratively and as part of a team with other professionals on large projects.
Originally trained as a glassblower, Christine works from her studio office in Brompton and her property and workshop near Finniss exploring stone carving, sculpture, dry stone wall building, making art, project management and public art opportunities.
Her work can be found on her web site christinecholewa.com or CHEB web site chebart.com.
