Golden oldies look at stones differently now

04/10/2017 by murally

DSWAA Vice President and architectural historian, Allan Willingham, led a tour of the Camperdown area dry stone walls and stone buildings on Tues 4 October for the Golden Oldies Men’s Group and volunteers – a lively bunch supported by the Golden Plains Shire – who say they not only had a great day; it changed the way they will look at stone wall and stone buildings in future!

We hope this tour encourages the group to take an interest in their local dry stone walls. The Shire of Golden Plains is one of only 12 municipalities that protects dry stone walls, requiring a permit to demolish, remove or alter a dry stone wall constructed before 1940.
